To promote the welfare of Labour in the National Capital Territory of Delhi and to implement welfare schemes formulated.

BRIEF HISTORY AND BACKGROUND OF ITS ESTABLISHMENT
|
|
Bombay Labour Welfare Fund Act 1953 (Bombay Act No. XLB 1953) was extended to NCT of Delhi by the GSR 1286 (E) dated 15/12/1986. In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 19 of Bombay Labour Welfare Fund Act 1953 as extended to NCT of Delhi, the Govt. of Delhi framed the "Delhi Labour Welfare Fund Rules, 1997 which was published vide notification No. F9(1)/89-DLC(W)LC/590 dated 18/11/1997 in Delhi Gazette, extraordinary, Part-IV. As per section 4 of the Act "Delhi Labour Welfare Board" was constituted vide notification No. F-9(1)/89/DLC/W/36 dated 17/01/2002. The Govt. of Delhi created "Delhi Labour Welfare Fund" vide Notification No. F.9(1)/89/DLC(W)/100 on 13/07/2004.

ALLOCATION OF BUSINESS

Administering the Delhi Labour Welfare Fund and to carry on such other functions assign to the Board by or under the Bombay Labour Welfare Fund Act 1953 as extended to NCT of Delhi. |

DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED TO ACHIEVE THE MISSION
|
|
Enforcement of the provision of the Bombay Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1953 as extended to N. C .T. of Delhi and rules made there under and implementation of the welfare schemes to cater the welfare of the working class of N.C. T. of Delhi. |

CITIZENS INTERACTION

The constitution of the Board reflects Citizen's participation by organizing the Seminars/ Workshops. The Board regularly interacts with the citizens. Apart from it, Board regularly interacts with the representatives of employees, employers and individual worker to assess the community needs of the workers which help in formulation of the welfare schemes. Employees and their family members individually visit the welfare centers and Board's Headquarter to discuss their problems and enquire about the various welfare schemes. The Board also associates NGOs with its programmes. |

GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL MECHANISM

Any person can meet Welfare Commissioner of the Board during the working hours regarding his/ her grievance and prompt action is taken to redress the same. |
