The workers, most of them, have to face legal pangs in greater part of their service-tenure. They remain at the mercy of the employers and the circumstances throughout. They neither have knowledge nor access to legal options and thus, reprieve for them remains a dream only. The Board thus, took a big-big leap forward by giving them platforms in the form of "Free Legal Aid Centres" and a 24 hours Labour Help-line (No.9604006006) to get justice through courts and also to air their grievances.
| | The Help-line inaugurated on 28.01.2003, allowed the workers to not only lodge complaints against atrocities or actions on anybody's part not in conformity with rules and regulations, but also to make relevant enquiries. When workers realized the facility and benefits, the relief is imaginable. It simply revolutionalised the concept of workers' welfare. |
