Women empowerment has been high on the agenda of the Delhi Labour Welfare Board. Besides training large number of women in Self Help Employment Courses, a Shramik Mahila Sammelan was held at Kamani Auditorium on 13.08.2003, in collaboration with CORE. Speakers on the occasion were -Mr. Danial Gustafson, Chief of FAO (UN); Mr. Francois M Farah, Chief of UNFPA; Ms. Parvati Krishnan, Chief of Women's Employment Programme, CII; Mrs. Adarsh Sarvaria, Chief of Women in Decent Employment Programme, ILO; Ms. Mukul Ahmed, Chief of Women's Programme, UN Asia and the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Sukhbir Sharma. Full auditorium on the occasion spoke for itself about the success of the Board's effort.
